Applications

This CPMT322-VF insert supports cutting speeds from 361 to 755 sfm, feeds between 0.004 and 0.008 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.059 in. These parameters accommodate general to interrupted cutting operations. The insert is designed for ISO material groups P30-P35 (steel) primarily, with secondary suitability for M20-M30 (stainless steel), K30 (cast iron), and S15-S25 (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium). Its positive rake geometry and 80° diamond shape make it ideal for finishing and semi-finishing applications, including light interrupted cuts. The insert excels in machining stainless steel, HRSA, titanium, and aluminum, especially where low cutting forces are needed to reduce deflection in thin-wall or low-rigidity workpieces.
