Applications

Cutting speeds range from 115 to 656 sfm, feeds from 0.004 to 0.012 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.118 in. This insert excels in continuous to general cutting operations within these parameters. The small 0.008″ nose radius supports finishing to light semi-finishing cuts with good surface finish. This insert is designed primarily for ISO material groups S05-S15 (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium) and M10-M20 (stainless steel), with secondary suitability for H05-H10 (hardened steel). Its positive rake geometry and continuous cutting application make it unsuitable for heavy interrupted cuts.
