Applications

Cutting speeds range from 115 to 656 sfm, feeds from 0.005 to 0.018 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.217 in. This insert supports continuous to general cutting with a maximum ap of 0.217 in. It is designed for machining materials in ISO groups S05-S15 (HRSA/Titanium) primarily, with secondary suitability for M10-M20 (Stainless steel) and H05-H10 (Hardened steel). The CNMG431-HS PC8110 excels in medium to rough turning and facing applications, including production OD turning and facing of forgings and castings with scale. It is well suited for boring in rigid setups and heavier interrupted entries but is not recommended for precision finishing, profiling, or thin-wall workpieces due to its negative rake and chipbreaker design.
