This high-speed steel series of spiral pointed plug taps from TTC is designed for general-purpose applications. The PVD, Titanium Nitride (TiN), coating on the threaded area provides a wear coating for good lubricity. The combination of two/three straight flute styles, pitch angle 60-degree and stainless steel tool material ensures superior performance at high speeds. The heat-resistant coating improves tool life and can be used without coolant. The models are available in 9 different number sizes of #0 to #12 with thread limit H1/H2/H3 and 10 different fractional sizes of 1/4 inch to 1 inch with thread limit H3/H4/H5. The square shank of the tap provides a firm grip. Slow spirals helix angle (0-degree) are used for non-ferrous materials. These taps are used to produce a thread to the bottom of a blind hole.
